About Me
As an artist, dance instructor and writer, I am inspired by creativity in any field of study, but particularly in the original thoughts of young people encountering the world and delving into academics.. Homeschooling my children for more than 20 years has given me an abundance of new insights and uncommon stories.
My children are homeschooled K-8. A few have done a hybrid of homeschool and public high school, several attended private high school and some are too young to tell what will best suit them. I have a recent graduate from Harvard University with a degree in Applied Mathematics and two more college students working towards degrees in Economics and Computer Science.

I have the privilege of raising eight fantastic individuals with my brilliant husband, who sees and processes things in a completely different
manner than I. Together we encourage and offer practical support to each child in their unique pursuits, from exceptional violinist to math team president, from teen novelist to 13 yr old architectural intern, and a variety of athletes from struggling to professional grade skill and commitment. Educational obstacles are in no shortage either. Attention deficits, dyslexia, stuttering, panic level anxiety attacks and concussion ramifications have also added to our journey.
Coming from a multiracial family with step and adopted components, as well as some with special needs, I learned early in life that character is more powerful than circumstance, and challenge can be opportunity in disguise. Hence, I focus on cultivating character in my own children through academics, and stretching my creativity in unexpected ways.
